Holly-Hunter
Holly Hunter (born Holly Hunter) is an American actor and producer. She is gaining recognition for her exceptional performance in movies such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Piano, as well as The Incredibles. The film Piano was awarded an Oscar. The talented actress began her career in acting by performing on stage, through a variety of Broadway as well as Off-Broadway productions. Passionate about acting since her school days she played Helen Keller in a play in the fifth grade. Her mumps left her deaf and blind in one ear. However, she did not allow this hinder her progress as an actress. In college she studied theatre as well as later moving from Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania to New York City in pursuit of her dream. Hunter was trapped in the elevator of the playwright Beth Henley when she met her. They collaborated to create Broadway Crimes of the Heart that marked the debut of Hunter on Broadway. When she moved to Los Angeles, she began to look for film roles. Her first film role was as an actress supporting the leading character Swing Shift. Over the past three decades, she has appeared on numerous TV shows and films. Holly Hunter is a Hollywood Walk of Fame famous person and has been awarded the Women in Film Lucy Award.
