Holly Hunter was an American actress who became famous due to her roles in films Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles. The actress has received several awards for her work, including an Oscar. The successful actress began her career as an actor by performing on stage, through a variety of Broadway as well as Off-Broadway productions. She is a lover of acting from the time she started school. The first time she appeared in a production in fifth grade was in Helen Keller. She became deaf in one ear following a bout of mumps but did not permit this to deter her determination to become an actor. She studied drama at college, and then moved between Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania to New York City to follow her dreams. Hunter was stuck in an elevator with playwright Beth Henley when she met her. They collaborated to create Broadway Crimes of the Heart in which Hunter made her Broadway debut. After that, she made the move into Los Angeles and tried to land film parts. The film, Swing Shift, she landed an appearance as a supporting character. Since then she has appeared in numerous films and television series and movies in a long career that spans more than three decades. Holly Hunter has a Hollywood Walk of Fame star and won Women in Film Lucy Award.
